Silverstone F1 Camping 2027 – Everything You Need to Know
Heading to the Formula 1 British Grand Prix at Silverstone in 2027? If you’re planning to make a weekend of it, camping near Silverstone Circuit is one of the easiest – and most enjoyable – ways to experience the whole event.
From choosing the right campsite and deciding what to bring, to getting to the circuit each day, there are a few things worth thinking about before you book.
Here’s our guide to camping at Silverstone for the 2027 British Grand Prix.
Why Camp at Silverstone for the British Grand Prix?
Camping means you can stay close to the action without worrying about long journeys to and from Silverstone each day.
It also becomes part of the Grand Prix experience itself. Arrive, set up camp and enjoy the atmosphere for the whole weekend rather than travelling in and out each day.
At Hamilton Fields, we're located in Silverstone Village, approximately one mile from Gate 5 at Copse Corner, making it possible to walk to the circuit.
When is the 2027 British Grand Prix?
The 2027 Formula 1 British Grand Prix takes place at Silverstone from 1st–4th July 2027.
Hamilton Fields opens for campers on Wednesday, giving you plenty of time to arrive, get settled and start enjoying the weekend.
Choosing Your Silverstone F1 Campsite
There are several campsites around Silverstone, so it's worth looking beyond price when deciding where to stay.
Consider:
How far is the campsite from Silverstone Circuit?
Can you walk to the circuit?
Are toilets and showers provided?
Is electric hook-up available?
Is there food and drink on site?
Is there evening entertainment?
Can you choose between quieter and livelier camping?
Are tents, caravans and motorhomes accepted?
Hamilton Fields welcomes tents, caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents with both Quieter and Lively camping areas available.
Camping Within Walking Distance of Silverstone
Location can make a huge difference to your Grand Prix weekend.
Hamilton Fields is situated on the A413 Towcester Road in Silverstone Village, approximately one mile from Gate 5 at Copse Corner.
Many of our campers choose to walk to the circuit, while others bring bicycles and cycle to the gates.
We also offer a minibus shuttle service, giving campers another option for getting to and from Silverstone Circuit.
Electric Hook-Up Camping at Silverstone
If you prefer a few extra home comforts, electric hook-up pitches are available in our Quieter Camping Area.
Our EHU pitches have a 16A electrical supply and are available in designated pitch sizes.
Electric pitches are always popular for the British Grand Prix weekend, so we'd recommend booking early if electric hook-up is important to you.
Don't Have Your Own Camping Equipment?
You don't necessarily need to arrive with a car full of camping gear.
Alongside our standard pitches, there are options for pre-pitched tents and luxury glamping, allowing you to arrive with much less to set up.
These can be particularly useful if you're travelling a long distance, coming from overseas or simply prefer someone else to do the hard work!
What Facilities Should You Expect?
After a long day at the circuit, having good facilities back at your campsite makes a big difference.
At Hamilton Fields you'll find toilets and showers, together with plenty of facilities to make the campsite part of your Grand Prix weekend rather than simply somewhere to sleep.
There's also our Chequered Flag Pub, food traders, campsite shop, live music and evening entertainment.
You can relax with a drink, grab something to eat and enjoy the atmosphere without having to leave the campsite.
Quieter Camping or Lively Camping?
Not everybody wants the same type of F1 camping experience.
Some people want music, entertainment and plenty of atmosphere, while others would rather retreat somewhere a little quieter at the end of the day.
That's why Hamilton Fields offers separate Quieter and Lively camping areas.
If being closer to the entertainment is important to you, our Lively area is likely to suit you. If you'd prefer to be further away from the main entertainment area, take a look at our Quieter camping options.
What Should I Bring Camping at Silverstone?
British summer weather can be unpredictable, so it's worth preparing for sunshine, rain and everything in between!
Useful things to pack include comfortable walking shoes, waterproofs, sun cream, reusable water bottles, camping chairs, torches and extra layers for the evening.
If you're bringing electric hook-up equipment, make sure you have a suitable outdoor camping cable with enough length to reach your connection point.
And don't forget your Grand Prix tickets!
